Jackson “on notice” to reach postseason
The Kitsap Sun in Washington reported late last week that Washington women’s basketball coach Tia Jackson has been “put on notice” by athletic director Scott Woodward.

Woodward was speaking at a local event in Kitsap and said the university has postseason expectations in all of its programs. The women’s basketball team has struggled under Jackson, going 21-40 since she was hired to replace June Daugherty two years ago. Woodward singled out Jackson and men’s soccer coach Dean Wurzberger.
“We demand a minimum that you make it to postseason play. That’s what we expect at the University of Washington,” Woodward said.
Jackson has put in just two full seasons with the Huskies, but has yet to turn a corner in a better direction. The program has been hit by numerous transfers (not entirely uncommon in a coaching change) and last year endured the dubious distinction of the worst conference loss in Pac-10 history, a 77-point defeat at the hands of Stanford.
